Pretty interesting trade. Who got the best of the deal?
I think the Bucks...They can play him at the 4 after they deal Magloire...and Mo Williams aint bad.
I do like Ford though, and he fits a need. Pretty good trade for both, edge to Bucks imo

the winner on this deal is C Villanueva...
getting out of canada and going a team filled with young talent.
TJ Ford is great, but he is undersized and injury prone...

The Toronto Raptors announced Friday they have acquired point guard T.J. Ford and an undisclosed amount of cash from the Milwaukee Bucks for forward Charlie Villanueva. Ford was the eighth overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft.
Ford, 6-foot, 165 pounds, averaged 12.2 points, a team-best 6.6 assists and 35.5 minutes last season. He started 70 of his 72 appearance, leading the he Bucks in assists in 52 games and in steals in 29 outings. He posted double figures in points 47 times, with six games of 20 or more.
In five postseason season contests, Ford averaged 12.6 points and 6.4 assists. He shot .490 per cent from the field, .400 per cent from three-point range and .917 per cent from the charity stripe.
“We are sorry to see Charlie leave, but getting better comes at a cost,” said Bryan Colangelo, president and general manager of the Raptors. “T.J. Ford’s best

IMO Toronto is gonna be off da chain, Bosh wanted his workout partner Lamarcus Aldridge, but Colangelo made it up to him by getting bosh a fellow texan playmaker in T.J Ford.
Mike James is looking for the big payday and really didn't have an interest for the raptors outside of himself.
Good move Toronto ! Villenueva isn't a slouch at all , Milwaukee will get the most out of him with redd and Mo Williams.

TORONTO -- Point guard T.J. Ford said he's completely healthy and excited to play with All-Star forward Chris Bosh, a day after he was traded to the Toronto Raptors.
The Milwaukee Bucks sent Ford to the Raptors late Friday night for forward Charlie Villanueva and cash.
Ford averaged 12.2 points and a team-high 6.6 assists in 72 games last season following a spinal-cord injury that sidelined him for a season and a half.
"I saw my doctor. I got clearance where I don't ever have to see him again," Ford said Saturday. "I'm confident."
The once-career threatening injury made him appreciate what's important.
"I definitely appreciate life a lot better. Things that are important to you, you don't take for granted. Basketball means a lot to me," Ford said. "I try to play every game like it's my last."
The 6-foot Ford was the No. 8 pick in the 2003 draft.
With the addition of the former Texas player, the Raptors have the up-tempo point guard general manager Bryan Colangelo wanted. Colangelo had Steve Nash when he was GM of the Phoenix Suns.
The trade follows Toronto's decision to select 7-foot Italian forward Andrea Bargnani, who has similar skills to Villanueva and Bosh.
Ford and Bosh have been talking about playing with each other since they were drafted three years ago. Both are from Texas.
"I talked to him as soon as I got the news. We're going to try to make this one of the best combos in the NBA," Ford said.
The trade reunites Ford with former Bucks assistant coaches Sam Mitchell, Toronto's head coach, and Jim Todd, Mitchell's top assistant.
Ford is excited about playing up-tempo.
"They have a lot of confidence in me. They want me to run the team," Ford said.

toronto got the better of this deal..
charlie v is decent..but toronto gets a true point who can get to the basket at will..is a threat to score himself (including an underrated jumper) but looks to pass first..
i think charlie v is a tad overrated after his first year..he does a lot of things well but nothing 'great' or even 'really good' -
i think he benefitted from the added motivation provided by a lot of negative criticism and you'll see a drop in his numbers now w/ the shoot-first redd and no scoring big man (bogut is no bosh) with him drawing a lot of attention from interior defenders
plus factor in the existing relationship b/t bosh and ford - and also factoring their main concern - keeping bosh happy..this is clearly a better deal for toronto
