When I signed up for this website, I had to pick a favorite player from the current roster. In going through my choices, I came to realize that no one on this squad plays at both a high level and in a style that I enjoy. Marbury is the best talent, but I can't love a shoot first point guard who is as self-promoting as Steph. I like Kurt Thomas to some degree, but he is simply not good enough to earn "favorite player" status.

In the end, I went with Allan Houston, who I really like, but who has essentially been retired.

Where have you gone, Oak, Ewing, Starks?

I had the same problem. Where have you gone, Starks, Mason, Oakley, Ewing, Harper??? This team needs to resurrect itself the old fashioned way. We need to get guys here who have guts, heart, and play defense first. We need to find talent that plays like there is no tomorrow. The problem isn't the Knicks, the problem is the league. How many players play with the kind of heart that NY fans love??? In the league, where is John Starks, Anthony Mason, Charles Oakley??? Putting themselves first has become the fashion. Ronald Murray, Eddie Griffin's comeback, that foreign guy from the Bulls, Manu, those are the kind of guys who would fill the garden seats. We need to draft well and let them play. Starks got his break by other guards going down, same with Mason. Pat played them because they play defense. The next coach needs to say to ALL including/especially Stephon, "Play D or don't play.".

Look at the Hornets roster, and then try complaining.

Eddie Jones! Eddie Jones! Eddie Jones!
A selfless player that plays D, but alas he is getting old.

and yeah, i live in Baton Rouge and I have yet to have an urge to watch a Hornets game. I mean, how can I call them my team when nearly everyone was traded within a year's span? I don't even bother to watch the games when they come on tv...

I picked Crawford because he's so exciting. I try to look at the bright side of things and Crawfords future in NY is bright. The kid clealry has talent and he showed it last season. He hit big time shots on the last second in 2 games. Something you dont see a lot of young players do. He oooooed and awwwed the crowd with dazzling dunks to himself. At 24 years old, I dont know why so many NY fans dont like him. He also can shoot the 3 very well and has great ball handling skills.

As for Marbury being a shootfirst PG, he finished 2nd in assist. No PG had better all around numbers. Marbury scored over 21 ppg and 8 assist. Find another point guard with those numbers. All we need is this draft and watch next year. #8, and #30 along with Sweetney, Ariza, Crawford, and Jackie Butler the Knicks have a nice young team with a very bright future.

Guys to get rid of
Allan Houstan: Just retire if your body isnt the same. Take steroids!
Penny: dont need him. Have Ariza that plays all around better
Rose: Im not a big fan of Rose. I like JYD and Rose dips into his minutes.

On the Bubble
Tim Thomas: had a slow start but picked it up. He was oour best player at the end of the season

Kurt Thomas: Been the leader last few years. Very dependable and cositant but it may be his time to say goodbye to NY

I'm a fan of Jamal too, but at times he just chucks up three-pointers, which is something that really annoys me.

yea kurt is definately a great player and he works hard. and yes he does need a center to play with cuz it will open up his outside game which is where he excels. he also is great at running the pick and roll with stephon.

i also like trevor ariza. he is loaded with potential and can play defense. and you gotta love the JYD. he is a team player and won't complain. he plays with heart and works harder than anyone else in the nba. i remember that play he made against the sonics when he stripped the ball away, dove on the floor, got the ball and dished it off to tim thomas for the dunk. that was beautiful.

I picked Kurt cause he's the most underappreciated player we have and busts his butt every night. Ariza in time (and should they keep him) could fill in this role.
